Online Guitar Lessons Preston
Online lessons can be a great addition to your week and a great alternative to face to face lessons for many people. This can be a lesson for just one person, or maybe you want to learn with someone else in your home as a new activity.
No interruptions of your guitar lessons due to local restrictions
This year has been challenging for everyone; however, learning a new skill (or revisiting your guitar playing) can help to break the stress and monotony of our current situation. You can also learn in the safe, comfortable environment of your own home and fit lessons around your work and family schedule easily. All you need is a WiFi connection, a device with a camera and microphone, a guitar (any kind) and a desire to become a guitarist!
Try something new and gain a skill for life!
Why not try something that challenges you? Is guitar something that you always hoped to be able to do, but just didn’t have the time? This could be a perfect time to start learning.
While online lessons are different to face to face lessons, they can have advantages past just time management.
The online lessons are all in real-time; therefore, you will have the feedback to your playing like we are in the same room, no matter where in the world you are. By using Skype (or FaceTime if you prefer) you will be sent PDFs and links to all the material you need to practice in the week.
From speaking to current students at different stages of learning, online guitar lessons have been beneficial for many reasons. A feature of online guitar lessons which is mentioned often is how students find the ability to have the camera very close to the fretting hand has helped them see and understand how to play more quickly than being in person.
Another advantage of learning online is you can choose who you want to be your guitar teacher and not be restricted by geographical restrictions. If I seem to be a good fit for your style of learning, let me know how I can help you become the musician you want to be.
Support Your Local Businesses
If you are from the Preston area, you will be helping to support a local business while learning online, which I know is very important to many of us (especially right now) and you can always transition into face-to-face lessons in the future.
If you aren’t from the Preston area, online lessons will be available from now on, so your guitar lessons will carry on no matter where you are in the world.
Want to start guitar lessons but moving away for uni for part of the year? Work away a lot?
Online guitar lessons are great for people who won’t always be in the same place each week. Maybe you go away for uni or work away often, online guitar lessons make it possible to fit in a regular guitar lesson (which is essential to making fast progress) when your geographical location keeps changing.
Guitar lessons should be fun and enjoyable, as well as productive!
The main thing I want you to get from your guitar lessons is to enjoy them. You will become a much better guitar player that way. This is why your first lesson won’t be focused on learning endless scales and theory. I want you to be able to play the guitar from the very beginning!
Can I learn online no matter what type of guitar I have?
Yes! Online guitar lessons work for both acoustic and electric guitar players. As long as you have a microphone and camera in your computer/tablet/phone, it will work.
Who should have online lessons?
Online guitar lessons are better for adults and who I generally recommend should have online lessons if you are a complete beginner.
WANT TO TAKE YOUR GUITAR PLAYING TO THE NEXT LEVEL?
Are these online guitar lessons really for me?
I don’t have time to practise every night, can I still benefit from guitar lessons?
Absolutely! You don’t have to commit to practice every single day for the next 10 years, but you do need to be able to spend at least a few hours a week at home going through what you learnt in your lesson. I will show you how you can fit your practice around your busy schedule even when you think you don’t have the time.
Do I need a guitar teacher, can’t I just learn it off YouTube for free?
YouTube has loads of videos about how to play guitar. The problem that most of my students have found though is there is no direction. While I’m sure you can learn guitar from YouTube, do you really have time to go through the trial and error of finding what works and what is no use to you? Wouldn’t it be better to speed up the process by having a roadmap to your goal and get rid of all the other stuff that won’t benefit you? A big difference between YouTube and a guitar teacher is you can ask questions. Many students have told me that this has saved them hours of their time. Sure, they could leave a comment but would they ever get back to them? Would anyone get back to them — and would the answer even be right?
I think I might be told old to learn now… I wish I’d learnt when I was younger…
In many ways you are at an advantage when it comes to learning guitar if you are an adult as you will be able to understand complex ideas such as rhythms. Also your hands will be stronger. Plus you truly want to be able to play the guitar!
I tried to play guitar/another instrument before and I just didn’t get it, but I really want to play!
It’s true that some people take to an instrument faster than others. That doesn’t mean you can’t learn it. If you really want to play and are willing to put the time in it may have been that you just weren’t practising the right things in the right order. We can fix that.
I want you to be the best guitar player you can be.
While I wish I could help everyone, like most people, I only have limited time. This means I can only work with students who are ready to be challenged, are happy to find time to practice and who truly want their guitar playing to advance.
This doesn’t mean you have to be a naturally talented musician by any means. It just means you are excited about the journey to become a better guitarist.
Due to there being limited time in my schedule, from time to time I have to stop accepting new students. This is because I want to make sure that my guitar students are getting the most out of their lessons.
